Can't wait, Legend Of Stanky Creek mtb race is this weekend.
I'm gonna leave work early today and go pre-ride the course so I don't have any surprises.
This will be the first MTB race I've competed in in about 8-9 years. My only goals are to not get hurt, ride fast and have fun!

So, how did it go? You know, if you don't come back from MTBing muddy, bloody, and bruised, you're not doing it right :-)
In all, it went great. I was back of the pack, but it was good to get out there.
I blasted the start and beat everyone into the woods. Unfortunately, I burned too many matches and blew up going up the first long uphill stretch after the sprint.
At the halfway point, everything started clicking again. I started remembering what it was to push it through the woods and began to pass people that had passed me earlier, including a dude who had talked a big show before the race.
I'm glad I got out there, but hate that I'm missing the races at my favorite trail while I'm away on business......
Thanks for asking!
